Welcome to Serve Clovis!

Serve Clovis! provides opportunities for Clovis citizens to contribute to their community. Volunteer contributions are a value-added enhancement to City services and provide the volunteer with a unique perspective of City government.

Serve Clovis! provides a link to departments and agencies in the City of Clovis by posting volunteer job opportunities and providing volunteer referrals for individuals and groups looking for a community project, team building or on-going community service. The City could use your help as clerical aides, tutors, maintenance aides, receptionists, recreation aides, research analysts, and writers. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, get involved, and learn new skills.

You can Express Interest by completing a simple on-line registration form. The program will then automatically e-mail your volunteer information to Serve Clovis! Hands On Central Cal manages this program and is our link to state and national volunteer web sites. Your information is under your control – you decide who can see your information!

Long-Term Opportunities

Assistant at Pet Adoption Center

Help keep our animals healthy and happy while waiting for the perfect home!

Citizens on Patrol - Clovis PD

Assisting patrol officers and acting as eyes & ears in the community. Patrol shopping centers, churches, schools, and parks to deter criminal activity and assist citizens; report abandoned vehicles and graffiti; cite muni-code and parking violators; perform vacation house checks; assist with traffic control, tow vehicles, crime scene preservation; and help out with special events.

Community Emergency Response Team - CERT

Volunteers are trained to respond to disasters, search & rescue, and other threats to citizens. CERT is also responsible for critical on-scene support utilizing our Emergency Assistance Unit (EAU). From the EAU, CERT provides gear and hydration to firefighters and begins the recovery process for families displaced from fire.

Counseling and Clinic Volunteer - Clovis Senior Center

Health Insurance advocacy, legal services, income tax assistance, blood pressure and health screening, peer counseling.

Kitchen Volunteer - Clovis Senior Center

Serve lunch, clean up, set up room, deliver hot meals, count money, help with food donations.

Office Support - Clovis Police Department

Assist in Police Department with filing, scanning, typing, data entry, fingerprinting; and other clerical duties and special event planning.

Old Town Ambassador

The Old Town Ambassador will interact with the public during special events such as Farmers Market, Big Hat Days, parades, etc. He/she will welcome and welcome general public, serve as a "roving information desk", pass out Clovis Dining/Shopping/History/Event and other brochures, and generally serve as greeter. This is a fun position for people who like people.

Parks Volunteer Coordinator

Energetic and enthusiastic person to coordinate volunteers with projects and follow up to provide assistance with tools, information or encouragement.

Playground Cleaning

Rake and smooth rubber bark in playground area. Pick up trash or debris in and around playground. Sweep walkways.

Skatepark Monitor

Under the limited supervision of Clovis Area Recreation staff, selected skatepark monitors may perform a wide variety of required duties. Monitors may be required to work in varied weather conditions. The duties may consist of the following: basic maintenance of the facility, monitoring of the skatepark, rules enforcement, first aid and notification of emergency services and law enforcement. These duties must be completed while offering great customer service. All the duties listed above may be required during volunteer service.

A Family Friendly Activity

The City of Clovis needs your help! Due to budget cuts many areas around the city now need volunteers to pitch in and give the much needed TLC! The Recreation Center is open, thanks to donations, and now we need to clean up the surrounding area. Volunteers will work in groups with team leaders trained by city staff. Let’s join together and make this southern entrance to our city look great again!
