Clovis Police Arrest Domestic Violence Offender Michael Kaercher

About 5:45 this evening, Clovis Police arrested 36-year-old Michael Kaercher and two of his associates at an apartment at 1076 Lind Avenue in Clovis. After three days and nights of surveillance operations, the department’s Gang Enforcement and Intelligence Unit and Investigations Unit located and arrested Kaercher for felony evading, violation of a restraining order, felony stalking along with two enhancements. Those include a bail enhancement for committing a crime while out on bond and a gang enhancement as he is a validated gang member.

The arrest stemmed from a 9-1-1 call early Monday (10/24) morning when Kaercher was trying to break into an apartment near Tenth and Lind. A Clovis Police officer spotted Kaercher trying to get away in a light gold Acura, turned on his flashlight and was able to identify him. Kaercher engaged another Clovis Police officer in a pursuit, which ended at Shepherd and Willow. Kaercher sped through the intersection and got away.

Also arrested this evening inside the apartment were 32-year-old James Johnson for a felony parole violation and 30-year-old Debra Green for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and felony child endangerment. A relative agreed to care for her 4-year-old son.
