The purpose of the Building Services Division is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures within the City of Clovis.

Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Requirements

• A permit is required for the installation of any body of water which is permanently installed on your property in which the depth of the water is twenty-four inches (24") or more.
• Permits are not required to set up any pool which holds less than 5000 gallons and is above ground.
• A permit is required however for any electrical work or underground plumbing installed, regardless of whether the pool or spa is above ground or below the surface of the ground
