Clovis Police Arrest Juvenile for School Shooting Threat

Clovis Police Department and Fresno Police Detectives arrested a 15 year old Clovis West Freshman before 2 a.m. this morning for making threats towards Clovis West High School and Buchanan High School. Clovis Police and Fresno Police were contacted by several concerned citizens who saw a Snapchat picture of an assault rifle with a warning to both Clovis West and Buchanan High students. Clovis Officers, Fresno Police Detectives along with Clovis Unified School Police investigated the threat and contacted the juvenile who sent the picture. There were no weapons found at the juvenile’s residence. The family of the juvenile is and hascooperated with law enforcement. Officers were able to determine the photo came from a website.

The 15 year old male was booked into Fresno County Juvenile Justice Corrections on one count of criminal threats of death or great bodily injury. The Clovis Police Department and the Clovis Unified School District will have an increased presence on the Buchanan campus today.
