Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Photography program. We are looking to build a team of volunteers that will be available to help us meet our photography needs at the Police Department. Specifically, we are interested in those who have a passion for, and some skills in, the photography field that are willing to donate their time at Police Department events. If you are interested in putting those skills to use as a volunteer Photographer for the Clovis Police Department, then you are in the right place!
The Clovis Police Department is very active in the Community with special events and programs. Quality photographs of these events are an important part of preserving history within the Department and the City. While we have a lot of these events throughout the year, having a group of volunteers will mean that you wouldn’t need to come to all of them. Finding the right balance between the needs of the department and how often you’re willing to be available is very important to us.
Some of the things that we need photographers for can range from pre-planned Community and Neighborhood events attended by the Police Department, Department ceremonies or functions such as awards or swear-ins of new Officers, or simply portraits of employees needed at times. These photographs will be used for things like social media postings by the Police Department, media releases, and other internal use.
You are welcome to use your own equipment but you would also have access to photography equipment owned by the Police Department. All photographs taken would become property of the Clovis Police Department, but the photographer will be given credit if the photo is used in a posting.
Qualified people will have some experience in taking quality photographs using basic photography skills and having an understanding of composition, lighting and post-processing of digital images. As this is an extension of our existing volunteer program, you would be required to fill out an application and would be subject to a background investigation.
This is a great and unique opportunity to give something back to your community or even add to your photography resume! For those that are interested in this important assignment, please fill out the questions below.
Thank you for your interest!
