Currently staffing the Clovis Police department are 140 full-time employees, of which 92 are sworn officers. High morale, fair and equitable wages and benefits make for little turn-over in employment in the department. We are always looking for quality, dedicated people to join our team.

Reserve Officer Program
In addition to the fulltime officers, there is a 19-person Reserve Officer program. Citizens representing a wide variety of occupations volunteer to be reserve officers and help extend the reach of the fulltime officers. These sworn civilians consider it a privilege to serve the citizens of Clovis. The public most often sees them at special events like the Rodeo, the Rodeo Parade, Big Hat Days, Farmers Market and holiday patrols. You will see our Reserve Officers in patrol cars, on bicycles and on motorcycles.
The Communications Division is the primary answering point for all emergency and non-emergency requests for police and emergency medical assistance in Clovis. Dispatchers are almost always the first contact the public has with the Police Department. They are required to triage and prioritize the incoming calls for service and make referrals to other agencies when appropriate. The Mission of the Clovis Police Department Explorer Post 355 is to expose youth to an organization with strict standards, high expectations, a police command structure, higher education and a career in law enforcement. We are committed to building a better tomorrow by encouraging youth through EXPLORING.
The Clovis Police Department Explorer Post 355 is currently looking for new EXPLORERS. The post meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Clovis Police Department, Youth Services Division from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. For information contact the Explorer line at 324-2443. We are looking to build a team of volunteers that will be available to help us meet our photography needs at the Police Department. Specifically, we are interested in those who have a passion for, and some skills in, the photography field that are willing to donate their time at Police Department events.
