Business Development
In many ways, the Clovis Community and Economic Development Department is like a bridge. Connecting new and existing business owners and operators with city officials, the department is helping to pave the way for the growth and expansion that is making Clovis part of California’s new economic frontier. The primary reason for the success of economic efforts in Clovis is that department officials understand business and business development -- from the initial concept stage all the way to expansion plans for those who have already put down roots here.
Economic Health
Serving as vital links for the economic health of the community, department officials:
- Work to increase jobs and the tax base by recruiting and retaining businesses through the Retention, Expansion and Attraction Program (REAP)
- Coordinate efforts between the city and various business organizations, including the Business Organization of Old Town, the Clovis Chamber of Commerce, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Clovis Tourism Advisory Committee, and the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County.
- Oversee the Clovis Community Development Agency (the City's redevelopment agency).
